For ensuring a continuous responsible management within the HORECA sector, Responsible Tourism should be understood as a behavior, meaning that the main objective should be to create better places to live and to visit.
The things that HORECA industry could do for assuring a responsible development are:
- to reduce negative economic, environmental and social impact;
- to generate greater economic benefits for the local community and raise the living standard in the area, improving also the work conditions
- to involve the employees in the decision-making process;
- to bring positive contributions to the conservation of natural and cultural heritage of the area, maintaining the diversity;
- to ensure that tourists receive the most pleasant experiences by connecting them to the local life of the visited place in order to better understand and connect to the specific area, and to its cultural, social and environmental aspects;
- to ensure facilities for people with disabilities as well.
As a conclusion we can say that Responsible Tourism exists where tourists can enjoy an excellent vacation and at the same time respect the culture of the area and the local environment.
